Membership Information

On June 12, 2017, Burquest held our Annual General Meeting, at which time the New Board was confirmed. On behalf of the New Board we would like to thank the outgoing Board for their hard work and commitment to Burquest.
During this past year Burquest has continued monthly Ritual programing with Cantor Steve Levin leading both Friday night and Shabbath morning services and a communal oneg after services. Cantor Levin is available for any life cycle events.
The Religious School has had another wonderful year under the leadership of Johanna Frank Davis. Some changes occurred this past year and were well received. The program is now divided into two areas of learning, Hebrew language and Jewish culture and holidays and most importantly Jewish cooking.
Initiating some new programs this year our Outreach Coordinator, Tami King has been organizing by-monthly Coffee and Knishes for parents/grandparents/ babies and tots consisting of play, story time, singing, dancing and great treats. Our Ladies Night will continue past speakers such as our own Selina Robinson, Jewish Family Services and Rabbi Cary Brown. These evenings are educational inspirational and very social. Please make an effort to attend.
Meeting once a month, the Community Kitchen continue under the capable leadership Zanna Linskaia. Always a wonderful afternoon of music, singing, discussions and learning and celebrating the Holidays and naturally great food.
Please make a point of attending our many activities and we hope to see you at our upcoming programs. Please feel free to contact any Board Member at any time to discuss ideas, suggestions and concerns.
As the High Holy days approach we are thrilled to announce that Rabbi Lindsey bat Joseph will be our conducting the services. Please join us for services Erev Rosh Hashanah September 20, and Rosh Hashanah Days September 21 and 22, with a Rosh Hashanah seder (pot luck lunch) on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, and a Tashlich service to follow. Erev Yom Kipper (Kol Nidre Service), is on Friday September 29 and Yom Kipper on Saturday September 30. Details will be posted on the Web Site or call the Office for additional information.
For security reason tickets are required for the High Holidays priced at $150.00 per person and seniors at $75.00. This cost covers the entire High Holy Day or any part. Naturally no one will be turned away for financial reason.
Please contact the Office Manager and/or President to make the appropriate arrangements. Note that we do have limited seating.
