Some twenty people attended the annual Simchat Torah party. Starting off with Israeli Dancing led by Amy Newman, Cantor Steve Levin led a brief service followed by the reading of the torah portions on a large table, with everyone around it. Following a tradition of the past few years, we used only one torah, re-rolling it when we finished the last line. Not only did this help us prepare the torah for the Saturday Bat Mitzvah, but it was also an excellent opportunity for David Medzon to point out various interesting parts of the Torah, as we watched the entire scroll pass before our eyes.
