Our School

Shalom and welcome to the Burquest Hebrew School, a committed and caring learning environment that focuses on Hebrew language, Jewish history, traditions, holidays and knowledge of prayer and Torah. Our primary purpose is to encompass Jewish heritage, promote pride and joy among our students, create a sense of community and belonging for families and develop a foundation with G-d and the universe in a meaningful way.

Community Jewish & Hebrew School

We currently offer programming for both children and adults involving the instruction of Jewish ritual, culture and the hebrew language.

Burquest's Hebrew school is the oldest "institution" within the organization, reflecting the high priority our members have always put on Jewish education. The school, designed for children in Preschool - Grade 7 as well as for Adults, meets from 9:30-12:00 on Sunday mornings. Our school offers a full complement of experienced teachers.
Children are divided into 4 classes:

  • Gan class (Preschool) for young toddlers under 5 years old;
  • Kita Aleph class (Grades K-2) introduces crafts, songs, Jewish culture & rituals;
  • Kita Bet (Grades 3 - 5) emphasizing beginning Hebrew language skills, life cycle events, holidays, and basic prayers;
  • Kita Gimel (Grades 6-7) is a B'nei Mitzvah preparation class that focuses on more advanced language skills, the meaning of prayer, life cycle events, and cultural and historical traditions.
