The Little Corner of Paradise
By Zanna Linskaia :Sometimes we do not realize what amazing places we live in. When a group of Burquest’s seniors visited the “Inspiration Garden” at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam, it felt like a hidden gem, or a little corner of paradise. It is home to very interesting plants, coniferous and fruit trees, exotic and beautiful flowers, herbs, grasses, and a mix of shrubs and perennials.
The bumblebee on the flower, together with the beehive, is very creative and attracts all visitors. It is a delight to see and walk through. The garden was opened 16 years ago after a few years of hard work and the inspiring ideas of volunteers and Town Parks’ staff.
It is dedicated to growing, supporting, and connecting gardeners in the local community. It has about 11 designated sections, including rose, perennial, and butterfly gardens, as well as a four-season garden, a…
