Exactly 86 years ago, in Germany on November 9-10, 1938, after “Kristallnacht” Nazis collaborating with ordinary civilians hunted down Jews on the streets of Europe, beating and assaulting them, while systematically vandalizing Jewish businesses.
The violence in Amsterdam on November 8, 2024 following a soccer match between Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Amsterdam Ajax has echoed this shameful history. Thousands of neo Nazis styled Islamists planned, organized and targeted Israeli football fans who came to support Jewish team. In Central Amsterdam young Jews were beaten, attacked by knives, hunted like animals, thrown into the freezing water of the canals, rammed by cars and scooters driven by gangs of Middle East migrants and Palestinians.
They chanted anti-Israeli slogans, and then posted the videos showing how they chased, kicked and beat Israeli citizens. Many reporters described these attacks as “a new Kristallnacht” and “a pogrom”. In the videos spread by attackers on social media, we see the real faces of radical terrorists in the heart of Europe. Israeli UN ambassador Dany Dannon remarked: “The Western World needs to wake up now”.
As a result of the attacks 10 Israelis were seriously injured, 30 were taken to hospital and 5 are still missing. The fate of many Israeli fans is unknown; some of them hid in their hotels, but Muslims attacked Jews even there.
Dutch authorities ignored warnings about violence against Israelis. Police arrived late and arrested 63 rioters. Almost all of them were released. Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately sent rescue and medical teams to Amsterdam in order to aid and evacuate some of the 3000 Israeli fans who had travelled to Amsterdam.
We must realize that what happened in the Netherlands could happen anywhere.
The Canadian government has failed to fight antisemitism.
Aggressive and violent pro-Palestinian rallies and protests in cities, on streets and on university campuses have been virtually ignored. The Canadian Liberal government together with the NDP barely pay lip service to anti- Semitism, and do very little to prevent attacks towards Canadian Jews by pro-Palestinian mobs, terrorist organizations, terrorist organizations and skewed reporting by the
government controlled mainstream media. The rhetoric and pronouncements made by Trudeau and his cabinet against Israel border on the outrageous.
They refuse to condemn anti-Semitic slogans and propaganda by radical Islamists. “Freedom of speech” is deemed more important for terrorist supporters than the safety of our Jewish citizens.
In fact we witness disgusting examples of government misinformation, such as when Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly demands the Israeli PM to stop the “genocide” of Palestinians, while their numbers have quadrupled and their society was left to govern itself over the last 20 years. What they did in that time was to use the funds to inculcate hatred in their children and use the money not stolen by their leaders to build tunnels and acquire weapons for the only purpose of destroying Israel. Minister Joly knew very well that the goal of Hamas is to ultimately eliminate the Jewish state “from the river to the sea”. Hamas and the Palestinian people have admitted repeatedly that the October 7 massacre will be occur “again and again”. There are many personal videos from Arab leaders thanking Israel for cutting off the arms of the Iranian proxies, including a video from a Hamas leader to Canada for supporting the ceasefire. But apparently Joly neither cares about terrorism, the serious Islamic threat in the Middle East and the world, or the Jews in Canada or Israel; she is much more focused on spouting leftist ideology for the purpose of virtue signaling to Canadians and the corrupted United Nations.
Moreover Minister Joly and the cabinet blocked military ammunition from Canada to Israel and banned exports to the army via the US, all while continuing to fund UNRWA, and organization complicit in the October 7 murderous rampage. The reason is simple - she does not want to lose the Arab electorate voices in her district of Montreal. Sadly, such politicians place their own political survival above that of the interests of all Canadian citizens.
In addition, the Trudeau government has a plan to import thousands of refugees from Gaza, many of whom are antithetical to Western values and will bring their hatreds to one of the most tolerant countries in the world.
Remember that, according to its own poles, two-third of Gazans support Hamas and its sadistic attack in October.
Do not be surprised when attacks against Jews, such as occurred in Amsterdam, will be re-enacted in Canada.
